When Love Comes Around
When love comes, it hits you like a hurricane,
It tosses and throws you around, like a rag-doll in the wind,
It tears through your defences, grinding them to dust,
Those massive towers you’ve built around your heart, all swiftly destroyed
When love comes around, it hits you as fast as a lightning strike,
It fries your brain whole and leaves only mush,
You’d go from logical to emotional with such a wild rush,
You’d toss away all your philosophical quotes and pour your heart into songs.
When love does turn up, it shines brightly like the sun,
It illuminates the darkness around you that you’d long thought had won,
It shows up all the defences you’ve set up for the weak, fragile things that they are,
How’d they ever let you believe that you’d be able to fight off love.
When love does come come around, it does so with such fury like terminators with a gun,
Tearing down everything in it’s path and then leaving you raw,
You’d go on and on to your friends about what a strong person you are, haha,
Then love hits you and shows you up like the sweet sweet baby you really are.
